Select 30 Regional Camps

The goal of the Select 30 All American Regional Camps is to help identify, recognize and provide exposure for talented amateur players. Through our online player lockers, we are working to showcase standards across our sport that will assist in athlete development and recruiting. Athletes have the opportunity to play alongside other top players in their grad classes and compete for an opportunity to be a part of the All American National Camp. USA Elite Select is collaborating with the All American Scouting Network (AASN), National Pro Fastpitch (NPF), and college softball to help grow the game.

What to Expect:

This two-day event will work to identify, recognize, and provide exposure for participating athletes. Regionals serve as the qualifying process for the Select 30 All American National Camp to be held during the NPF Championship Series next August. All athletes will go through two days of performance testing and evaluations conducted by AASN. Top players from each Regional will receive an invitation to the Select 30 All American National Camp in August 2017.

Every Select 30 Regional Camp will utilize the following format:

Saturday: Athletes will be tested and evaluated by the AASN on athletic testing, offensive testing, defensive testing, and overall game performance. The testing and evaluations will be conducted by the AASN in order to provide a subjective third party evaluation of all players in attendance.  Here athletes will be able to see where their current skill level lies within their age group compared to other players from across their region and across the country. Data will be recorded player lockers and leader boards will be created across the various age groups.

Sunday: This will be a live scrimmage/game format. Athletes will participate in live game situations coached by professional and college players. This allows athletes an opportunity to work with and learn from players who have played at the highest levels. Evaluations will continue to be conducted by the AASN. Players will be accessed on their approach, mechanics, game instincts, coachability, mental toughness, and overall mental and physical abilities.

Cost: $225

Age Groups: 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 graduates

*This camp is open to any and all athletes who wish to compete in the Select 30 Regional. There are no regional restrictions or limit on how many Regionals you wish to attend. Space is limited as each age group will be limited in numbers.

Select 30 National Camp

Top players at each Select 30 Regional camp will be invited to our 2017 All American National Camp, which will be held during the NPF Championship (exact date and location will be announced later by the NPF). The National Camp is a three-day event where athletes will once again go through two days of training and evaluations with our professional scouts, NPF players and college players. They will be competing alongside the top players in their graduation classes.

After two days of evaluations, the top 30 athletes from each graduation class will be selected to compete in the Select 30 All American Games. These athletes will compete in two 7-inning games to see who will make the final All American Teams.

All players participating in the Select 30 All American National Camp will receive tickets to the NPF Championship through their registration.

AASN Evaluation Process:

For the evaluation process, scouts from the AASN alongside NPF and college players, will make selections based on the athletes performance from the weekend event. According to AASN, evaluation standards are met through the overall performance from athletic testing, defensive testing, offensive testing and pitcher bullpens.

  • Athletic testing is used in order to measure agility, speed, explosiveness, control of the body while changing direction and quickness.
  • Defensive testing allows scouts to measure arm strength, accuracy, footwork and overall defensive skill sets based on athletes’ primary positions.
  • Offensive testing allows scouts to evaluate athletes’ bat speed, swing mechanics, and hitting fundamentals off front toss and live BP.
  • Pitchers’ bullpens allow scouts to measure velocity, movement, and control or ability to hit spots.
  • Bullpens also allow evaluation of catchers on framing, blocking skills, the ability to set up on pitches thrown, and overall athleticism.
  • During the live BP session, scouts are able to determine how girls play against each other and determine the Select 30 through the testing of each participant and how well they did on Saturday's session.
